Bittersweet. The passing of a dear friend. Bitter because you miss them terribly and you feel as if a piece of you is missing. Sweet because you know they are out of pain, safe, comfortable, happy. This precious animal you see above was and is my best friend. The cutest and sweetest canine ever (totally not bias). He would lay quietly beside you. He would find the space between your elbow and the table and stick his big nose in-between to persuade you to give him a piece of dinner. He would nudge your hand until you had to pet him. He would only sniff you, never lick you. If you ever handed him cheese or meat, he wouldn't chew, just swallow. He would always get in the way in the kitchen, and you would trip over him, but really you were glad he was there. He would gently scratch his paw against the door to know he wanted in. He loved peanut butter, apple cores, and cheese. He loved to chase the red ball. He loved car rides. Overall, he was the goofiest dog ever, but one who was and is dearly loved.
Zeusy. Zuester. Zoo. Zeus, we love you. You will not be forgotten. We'll love you forever and remember the way you touched our hearts. Tears have been shed, but smiles have broken through them. Farewell, dear friend.
